His invasive cardiology interests include minimally-invasive interventional procedures to restore blood flow to blocked coronary and peripheral arteries, treatment of aneurysms, and management of complex cases using advanced technologies. Dr. Cardenas has developed special and unique expertise in the treatment of structural heart diseases, including valvular diseases and procedures to prevent stroke and treat congenital abnormalities.
When clinically indicated, Dr. Cardenas performs coronary procedures through radial access (transradial), an approach that leads to better procedural outcomes and improved patient comfort. He also performs outpatient endovenous ablation for the treatment of varicose veins.
